Shrinkage during Pre-Treatment — Live Demos

Four interactive demonstrations across 6 construction × treatment combinations.
Shrinkage Chain — Cumulative
Process Step This Step Cumulative
Weaving (loom relaxation) 0.5 – 1.5% 0.5 – 1.5%
Pre-Treatment 1.0 – 2.0% 1.5 – 3.5%
Dyeing 4.0 – 7.0% 5.5 – 10.5%
Sanforizing (finishing) 4.0 – 5.0% 9.5 – 15.5%
Finished Product (measured) = total
Ranges are indicative typical values across construction classes. Per-construction fitted distributions yield calibrated ranges specific to each fabric. The Finished Product row is the cumulative outcome — what the EPI/PPI Counter measures at final QC. Loom relaxation row not yet built.
About these demos. Pre-treatment is the FIRST wet-processing event in the fabric's journey — desizing, scouring, bleaching. Shrinkage at this stage is small (1.0-2.0%) and typically tight, but it sets the baseline noise floor for everything downstream. Stable pre-treatment shrinkage means lower compounded uncertainty at the finished product. Drift here is often the earliest warning that something upstream — yarn lot moisture, machine temperature, recipe concentration — has changed.
DEMO 1 Measurement Capture from Greige & Post-PT Images (Layer 1)
EPI/PPI cameras at the entry of the pre-treatment line (capturing greige fabric — کورا لٹھا — straight off the loom, from the greige-inspection-stage image in the roll archive) and the exit (capturing fabric ready for dyeing, the pre-treatment-stage image) compute per-roll shrinkage from the change in density, then pull the corresponding registry entry.
Pre-treatment shrinkage is small but informative. Typical 1.0-2.0% — much smaller than dyeing or sanforizing. Because the distribution is tight, deviations here are often the earliest indicator of upstream problems. The visible change between pre and post images is subtle by design.

DEMO 2 Fitted Distribution per Construction × Treatment (Layer 2)
Pre-treatment distributions are typically tight (σ ~0.2%) and mostly normal — pre-treatment is a relatively well-controlled mechanical and chemical process. Some constructions still show interesting structure: bimodal patterns arise from mixed continuous/batch processing; right-skew can result from acid wash variability.

DEMO 3 Roll-by-Roll Observations with Deviation Bands (Layers 1 & 3)
Tight pre-treatment distributions mean deviations stand out clearly. Red ×'s mark anomalies — observations more than 3σ from the mean. Because pre-treatment is upstream of more visible problems, catching deviations here prevents larger compounded errors downstream.

DEMO 4 Evaluate a New Observation (Layer 3 interactive)
Imagine a roll has just exited the pre-treatment line with an observed shrinkage. Select the construction class and enter the observed shrinkage value. The platform compares it to the fitted distribution and reports whether the observation is normal, in the caution zone, or a process-deviation alert.
