Shrinkage after Sanforizing — Live Demos

Four interactive demonstrations of the three-layer architecture, running on synthetic data.
Shrinkage Chain — Cumulative
Process Step This Step Cumulative
Weaving (loom relaxation) 0.5 – 1.5% 0.5 – 1.5%
Pre-Treatment 1.0 – 2.0% 1.5 – 3.5%
Dyeing 4.0 – 7.0% 5.5 – 10.5%
Sanforizing (finishing) 4.0 – 5.0% 9.5 – 15.5%
Finished Product (measured) = total
Ranges are indicative typical values across construction classes. Per-construction fitted distributions yield calibrated ranges specific to each fabric. The Finished Product row is the cumulative outcome — what the EPI/PPI Counter measures at final QC. Loom relaxation row not yet built.
About these demos. The platform's three-layer architecture is demonstrated below: Demo 1 captures the measurement from pre and post sanforizing images (Layer 1), now sourced directly from the registry-backed roll archive. Demo 2 shows the fitted distribution learned from 1190 historical observations (Layer 2). Demo 3 shows roll-by-roll observations with deviation bands. Demo 4 lets you submit a new observation and see how the deviation detector evaluates it (Layer 3).
DEMO 1 Measurement Capture from Pre & Post Sanforizing Images (Layer 1)
The same EPI/PPI camera technology demonstrated under Finished Product → EPI/PPI Count is deployed at two points on the sanforizing line — one capturing the pre-sanforizing fabric (the dyeing-stage image from the roll archive), one capturing the post-sanforizing fabric (the finishing-stage image). The platform analyzes both, computes the shrinkage, and pulls the corresponding registry entry. Select a construction below.
How shrinkage shows up in the measurements. Sanforizing physically shrinks fabric lengthwise — the cloth gets shorter. The same number of weft yarns now occupy less length, so PPI goes UP from pre-sanforizing to post-sanforizing. EPI changes very little (sanforizing affects length, not width). The increase in yarn density IS the shrinkage signal — the more the fabric shrunk, the higher the post-sanforizing PPI relative to pre-sanforizing PPI.

DEMO 2 Fitted Distribution per Construction (Layer 2)
Per-roll observations from Demo 1 accumulate into a continuously updated fitted distribution per construction. This distribution replaces the planner's informal mental estimate with calibrated statistics — mean, standard deviation, percentiles. Select a construction to view its fitted distribution.

DEMO 3 Roll-by-Roll Observations with Deviation Bands (Layers 1 & 3)
Every roll's shrinkage observation is plotted against the fitted distribution's expected range. The shaded green band shows the 95% expected range; the amber band shows the 2-3σ caution zone. Red ×'s mark anomalies — observations more than 3σ from the mean that would trigger real-time alerts.

DEMO 4 Evaluate a New Observation (Layer 3 interactive)
Imagine a roll has just exited the sanforizing line with an observed shrinkage. Select the construction class and enter the observed shrinkage value. The platform compares it to the fitted distribution and reports whether the observation is normal, in the caution zone, or a process-deviation alert.
